Crypto.com Custody Secures $120M Insurance for Digital Asset Protection
Crypto.com Custody Trust Company has obtained a $120 million insurance policy to safeguard digital assets held in cold storage. The coverage, underwritten by Lloyd’s of London syndicates and arranged by Aon, addresses risks including theft, physical damage, and third-party crimes.
The policy allocates $100 million specifically for assets in cold storage, reinforcing institutional confidence in custodial services. An additional $20 million covers crime-related incidents, reflecting heightened security demands in the digital asset sector.
This move signals growing institutionalization of crypto custody solutions, with North American clients being primary beneficiaries. The involvement of Lloyd’s—a 335-year-old insurance market—lends traditional finance credibility to digital asset infrastructure.
